Hi, my name is Julie Martinez, I am a Texas Native,  born and raised in Houston. I own a small produce business located in the Houston Farmer’s Market.

I enjoy hanging out with friends, family , visiting new places, trying new foods, and going to baseball games

When did you start doing CrossFit? How has CrossFit made an impact on your life outside of the gym?

I started CrossFit in 2017 after 9 years of boxing. I decided to join CrossFit after realizing that boxing was getting a bit too dangerous at my age. I wanted to try something new, not knowing that I would end up loving CrossFit more than boxing. Over the years CrossFit has become my therapy session and a form of self love. 

What is your favorite lift? What are your CrossFit goals?

My favorite workouts are back squats and deadlifts. My goal in CrossFit is to get stronger, and stay fit and healthy. 

What advice would you give to newbies?

My best advice to newbies is to always believe in yourself, don’t give up, and make yourself proud.
