On October 24th, we will be hosting a charity Hero WOD in support of the Trail to Zero Charity whose mission is to bring awareness, prevention, and treatment for suicides amongst the U.S. Veteran Community. Trail to Zero Organization In Honor of our U.S. Veterans, District H will be hosting the Hero WOD “Blake” in honor of our fallen soldiers and for those who continue to struggle with wounds of war. “Blake” is the following: 4 Rounds for Time: 100FT Overhead Walking Lunge (45# Plate/35# Plate) 30 Box Jumps (24″/20″) 20 Wall Ball Shots (20#/14#) 10 Handstand Push-Ups We will be doing “Blake” for all three of our Saturday group classes, including ReBoot. We are also collecting donations to support their cause. My fitness journey and gym owner journey started on December 4th of 2013. I was working in Irvine, CA for an investment management company and I was absolutely miserable. I was overworked, stressed out, and overweight (that’s me on the far right). From the recommendation of a friend, I walked into CrossFit Brit on December 4th, 2013 and met a man named Sham Cortazzi. I had no real idea what CrossFit was and I thought I was going to be working with a woman named “Brittany” given the name of this particular gym. Boy was I completely wrong.
