Tell Us a Little Bit About Yourself: A little bit about myself: My partner, now fiancé, is Cody MacDonald, we have a dog named Maisy (she was named in honor of the other Maisy at the gym, which is another story). I am an exploration geoscientist, which keeps me very busy these days. Since I’ve been working full-time, I find that my extracurricular hobbies have dwindled. I have energy during the week to workout, work, cook and rest. Before I had a demanding job and before I moved back to Houston, I was very passionate about (trail) running, rock climbing and swimming. I spent my twenties traveling internationally as much as possible. These days I like to stay home in my sweatpants and drink tea. When we do travel, it is to the mountains for skiing, hiking, biking and relaxing. When Did You Start Doing CrossFit? I started doing CrossFit...

I don’t know about you, but one thing that I find extremely difficult no matter how hard I try, is being present. Maybe it’s our fast-paced society of always rushing from one thing to the next. Nowadays, the simple act of taking time to actually slow down and relax is viewed as “lazy”. Or maybe it’s my “go-getter” personality that keeps me always on my toes and reaching for the next thing I can accomplish. Whatever the reason, I find it extremely hard to chill out and just be. Anytime I do accomplish something I’m working towards, I tend to have a feeling of “okay…now what?” Perhaps, you do too? Recently, I came across this metaphor of “the island” and it immediately resonated with me. Think about it. We spend the majority of our lives swimming in the “ocean”. We are always trying to get to that next thing. We...

It’s February ya’ll, and you know what that means, right? It’s the month of love! I know a lot of you Valentine’s Day haters out there think it is a cheesy, Hallmark holiday. But what if we changed our perspective and used this Valentine’s Day to inspire us to work on the most important relationship of all: the one you have with yourself. I used to think that in order to truly work on yourself, you had to be single. You hear it all the time in our society. “You need to be single/alone to really find yourself.” Or the most cliché of all, “you have to love yourself before you can love someone else.” But my perspective has changed on this. I believe that being in a relationship can be a great opportunity for your partner to expose the parts of yourself that you truly want to change. I...

Tell Us A Little About Yourself: Hey, my name is Clint McGee. I grew up just north of town in Conroe, and received my undergrad degree at Texas A&M. I guess I thought 4 years plus one victory lap wasn’t enough school so I got my JD at South Texas College of Law, and currently work as an in-house Landman for an oil and gas company. I don’t technically practice law but am certified, so I can represent you in court, but you might not want to take your chances. I have an amazing and beautiful wife named Lindsey who I’ve been married to for just over 4 years, and we have two cats in the house: Betty, as in Betty White, and Bea, as in Bea Arthur. For any of you younguns those are two of the four Golden Girls. In my spare time I love to travel, play...

The year 2020 sounds so futuristic to me. It almost gives me the vibe that we should have flying cars by now or have the ability to teleport. While we aren’t quite there with our technology yet, the one thing we know for sure that each New Year brings is: New Years Resolutions. I’ve never really been into the whole resolutions thing. It can be a bit cheesy, yes, but I also struggle with the idea of waiting for a certain time period to start something. It’s easy to get caught up in the whole “I’ll start on Monday” type of mentally. But why wait until Monday, or until the New Year, or until whatever other excuse to start something that you know you want to do? Why not NOW? Even though I’m not the biggest fan of resolutions, what I think is worse is not setting your sights on...
