Tell us a little bit about yourself (family, job, interests/hobbies, etc).  I’m 35 years old, originally from Clarksdale, MS. I’ve been in the Houston area over 12 years, the majority spent in League City. I have all the jobs, haha. I work full-time at CenterPoint Energy in Digital Marketing, as a digital marketing specialist. I also work at my brother’s funeral home in Texas City. I am in charge of dressing and casketing decedents for their services while also maintaining our death certificate system. Last, but not least, I am a Precision Nutrition certified nutrition coach for the best nutrition company ever, Falcon Nutrition. I really love helping clients achieve goals that they never thought were possible with sustainable nutrition.  In between all my jobs, I really love to read when I get the chance (memoirs are my favorite), and I’m also addicted to the Investigation Discovery Channel. My television is...

When did you start working out District H?  April 2022 What made you decide to start working out in general? I played sports all the way through college so I have worked out most of my life. After college, I wanted to stay active and do something competitive that kept me in shape. How have your workouts made an impact on your life outside of the gym?  It helps me stay disciplined and helps me start the day right...

Tell us a little bit about yourself (family, job, interests/hobbies, etc). Although I lived in the Midwest for a good portion of my childhood, I have generational connections to the Heights, and Timbergrove neighborhoods. My grandfather was a minister in the Heights, he raised his family in Timbergrove, and my dad’s family grew up just east of 45. Without really meaning to, I wound up living right in the middle of my parent’s childhood homes.  My wife, Christa, and I have been married for 15 years and have an 11 year old named Townes. We share our house with two dogs, three cats, and changing roster of random animals that come to us through my work. I’m a veterinarian and one of two owners of Bayou City Veterinary Hospital. Our practice has been open since 2013 and employs a whole bunch of fantastic people dedicated to companion animal health and welfare.  In...

Tell us a little bit about yourself (family, job, interests/hobbies, etc).  I moved to Houston 6 years ago from Mozambique. I live in the Heights with my husband, Steve, and dog, Lucy. I teach science at Heights High School, just down the road. I love goats, Cher, playing bingo, and rolling around on my Heelys (I’m getting pretty good).  When did you start working out District H?  One year ago! What made you decide to start working out in general? I always played sports growing up (when you’re a 6 foot tall leftie, it’s not really a choice), and ran track and rowed crew in college, where I first started lifting weights, and was introduced to the erg, respectively. Since college, I still enjoy working out for the physical and mental health benefits, as well as an outlet for my competitive side.  How have your workouts made an impact on your life outside of the gym?...

By Scarlet Rodriguez Tell us a little bit about yourself (family, job, interests/hobbies, etc). I’m 46 years old, a native Houstonian, and I’ve been married to my wife Jennifer for almost 13 years and we have a 9 year old son named Holden. They’re both way cooler than I am, and I constantly struggle just to keep up with them. We’re a cycling family, and we’ve owned Blue Line Bike Lab since 2005. I’m a prolific reader and a prodigious eater, and our family is big on traveling and camping and generally not being at home. I really enjoy dogs, ice cream, Netflix series, combat sports, and Texans football. What my tattoos lack in quality they make up in quantity. I don’t care for cats or horses, though I generally enjoy the company of both cat people and cowboys. I like both kinds of music- metal and country. I’ll read anything....
