Book a Discovery CallStrength in numbers, coaching by name
Small group training at Oak Forest runs on the same leveled programming District H has refined since 2012. Each session follows a structured strength cycle, and the coach adjusts loads and movements for every person in the room. Fourteen people is the hard cap, because past that a coach stops coaching and starts supervising.
For most members this is the sweet spot: real coaching and real programming at a lower price point than one on one work, plus a room of regulars who notice when you skip a week. If you want a fully individual plan first, start with personal training in Oak Forest and move into the group when your foundation is set.
Everyone trains in the same session, but nobody trains the same workout. Through our Elevate MAP, your daily training is leveled to your ability: your weights, your movements, your starting point, so two very different people can train side by side and both progress at their own rate.
Made for this side of the Loop
No more crossing 610 for a decent coached session. The Oak Forest gym opens at 5am on weekdays, memberships start at $195 per month, and every membership carries the 14 day money back guarantee. Closer to Studewood? See small group training in Houston Heights.
Our coaches hold CrossFit Level 2 and 3, Active Life Professional, and nutrition certifications. Every coach runs the group by coaching individuals, not the group as a whole, which is how District H keeps small group at a quality that larger classes cannot match.
"The staff are incredibly knowledgeable, encouraging, and attentive. The group classes have a supportive energy that makes you look forward to coming back. It is rare to find this level of care and community."
Group training FAQ
What are small group sessions like at Oak Forest?
Capped at 14 people per coach, built on leveled strength programming, and scaled to each person in the room. The coach sets your weights and movements individually, so beginners and experienced lifters train in the same session and both progress.
When can I train?
The Oak Forest gym at 2219 W 34th Street opens at 5am on weekdays. Book a free discovery call and a coach will walk you through the current session times and where you fit best.
What if group training is not the right fit for me?
Then we will tell you on the discovery call and point you to one on one personal training instead, either here at Oak Forest or at our Heights location. The goal is the right starting point, not a signup.
Is the workout the same for everyone, or built for me?
Everyone trains in the same session, but the work is leveled to you: your ability, your goals, what your body can handle that day. A lot of group formats hand the whole room one workout and hope it fits. Ours is designed so the same hour challenges a former college athlete and someone six weeks back into training, at the same time, each at the right level. That only works because a real coach is programming it, not a franchise playbook.
How many people are in a session?
We cap small group at 14. Small enough that a coach can actually see you, correct you, and know your name, yet large enough to feel like a room with real energy in it. You are a person here, not a face in a crowd of forty.
I've done CrossFit and loved it, but the intensity isn't sustainable for me anymore. Is this a step down?
Not a step down, a next step. You built real capacity in that world and it doesn't have to disappear. We keep the structure, the strength work, and the community you liked, and take out the parts your body no longer needs to prove. It's training for the season you're in now, not the one you were in ten years ago.
Do you offer online coaching, or is this in-person?
In-person, on the floor, with coaches who know your name and watch you move. An app can send you a workout; it can't notice your knee caving on the third rep or ask how your week actually went. If you've tried training through a screen and found the accountability wasn't there, that's the gap we fill.
