Coaching that fits around Oak Forest life

Most people in this neighborhood do not need motivation. They need a plan that survives a real week: work, kids, travel, and everything else. That is what a District H coach builds. Sessions are scheduled around your life, the program progresses when you do, and your coach holds the plan steady when your week goes sideways.

The model is the same one District H has run in Houston since 2012: assess first, then program, then coach every session. Whether you are new to strength training, coming back from an injury with our physical therapy partners, or a former athlete who misses structure, the plan starts where you are.

Two ways personal training runs

One on one is a coach, you, and a plan built only around your goals, your history, and your schedule. It is the fastest way to learn the lifts, train around an old injury, or work toward something specific, because every minute of the session is yours.

Small ratio, sometimes called semi-private, puts you with two to four other members and one coach. You still train your own program with load ranges set for you, at a lower cost and with a little more energy in the room. Many Oak Forest members start one on one to build the movements, then move into small ratio once the lifts belong to them and keep the coach who already knows how they train.

Our coaching staff carry credentials including CrossFit Level 2 and 3, Active Life Professional, and nutrition certifications, and the full roster is on our About page.

"This gym is the perfect addition to the Garden Oaks neighborhood. It is rare to find a gym that feels welcoming the moment you join, but District H has done exactly that. I have especially loved Jonathan's classes, his technical expertise and joy radiate through his coaching."

Personal training FAQ

Where do personal training sessions happen in Oak Forest?

At our gym at 2219 W 34th Street, Suite B, on the corridor between Oak Forest and Garden Oaks. Weekday sessions start at 5am, so you can train before work without crossing the 610 Loop.

What does personal training cost at Oak Forest?

Memberships start at $195 per month and your plan is built around what you actually need. The first step is always a free discovery call, and every membership carries a 14 day money back guarantee.

Can I mix personal training with group sessions?

Yes. Many members start one on one to build a foundation, then add small group sessions for community and cost efficiency. Your coach manages one plan across both, so nothing falls through the cracks.

What if I am coming back from an injury, or I am worried about getting hurt?

This is one of the things we do best. We have on-site physical therapy through Iron Horse, and your coach coordinates directly with them, so if you are returning from an injury or managing something, you are not choosing between rehab and training. One plan, one team, keeping you moving safely.

Are your coaches actually qualified, or is this someone's side gig?

Our coaches are full-time professionals. This is their career, not a shift between other jobs, and we invest in them: benefits, continuing education, and a real path, so they invest in you. You are working with someone who does this for a living and plans to for a long time.

What makes District H different from a personal training studio?

The coaching is only part of it. We have on-site physical therapy through Iron Horse and a physician-led longevity program, so your training connects to your recovery and long term health instead of standing alone. And our coaches are full-time professionals with 13 years here, not a rotating roster. Most studios train you. We look after the whole picture.

Do you offer online coaching, or is this in-person?

In-person, on the floor, with coaches who know your name and watch you move. An app can send you a workout; it can't notice your knee caving on the third rep or ask how your week actually went. If you've tried training through a screen and found the accountability wasn't there, that's the gap we fill.
