by Coach Tommy It’s Monday! Let’s build some momentum to our week by talking about motivation. Specifically, let’s talk about motivation towards our health & wellness goals. Do you find it hard to get started with a routine when it comes to working out? Don’t worry, everyone does. We all know what we “need to be doing” in terms of living a healthy life. The hard part is formulating a clear game plan on how to incorporate those daily habits into our overall life. The starting point for us wanting to accomplish something comes down to getting very clear on what our motivation is for wanting to do so. Exercise is effortful. It takes a diligent approach to want to apply health stress to the body every single day. It is unnatural to WANT to do something like that everyday. But then why do million of Americans seem to want...

by Coach Tommy Happy Sunday! It’s the start of a brand new week! For me personally, I like to use Sundays to prep for the upcoming week. Organizing, laundry, meal prep, management meetings, and workouts all get scheduled on Sunday so that weekdays can happen seamlessly. But I am not going to lie. There are some Sundays where the motivation is lacking. Not just in the things that I have to do, but even in things I genuinely enjoy doing. I think it’s completely natural to feel unmotivated. It’s typically a sign that I am close to feeling a little burned out, need a vacation, or simply need to reframe or address whatever stress is going on in my life. Nonetheless, whether the motivation is there, I still have personal and professional goals that I want to accomplish. That is where the power of habit kicks in, and I can...

by Coach Tommy Starting a new fitness routine, joining a new community, putting yourself out there…can create uneasiness in each of us. That is something I never want brand new members that walk into my gym to experience. This week we talked about how we onboard new members in our gym. The goal of onboarding is to create a plan that sets you up for success and make the experience seem as seamless as possible. First, we discussed the Initial Consultation and why we always start there instead of offering a Free Class.  Learn about what we discuss during your initial consultation and how we create your personalized roadmap. “Why Do We Start With a Consultation Instead of a Free Class” “It All Starts with a Conversation” Next, we discussed our On-Ramp program and how it provides individualized attention to help new members get started on the right foot. “Get...

by Coach Tommy You heard me correctly! We can guarantee that you will see the results that you want. How is this possible? It’s because we are constantly following up with our members and making minor adjustments to their personalized fitness and nutrition prescription along the way. In other words, we are getting constant feedback from you about what is working, what is not working, and making the necessary changes. When you first come in for your initial consultation, it’s our first opportunity is to learn about you and create a personalized plan that addresses your goals. During your first 1-on-1 session, we get to learn even more about you by seeing your movement and adjust our prescription accordingly. After we have sat down and spoken with you about your nutrition, we learn EVEN MORE about you and adjust accordingly, and so on and so on. It’s all about the...

by Coach Tommy This week I have laid out the road map regarding how we integrate new members into our community. First, we have our initial consultation to better understand you, your goals, and your intrinsic motivation for wanting to be healthy and create a personalized roadmap that will set you up for success. Second, we go through the On-Ramp process where you are matched 1-on-1 with a professional coach for four personal training sessions. You receive individualized attention and for us to get a good starting point for where you are. Third, we typically conduct a movement screen that allows us to assess your mobility restrictions, motor control, current strength level, balance/coordination, asymmetries in your body, and where your potential risks for injuries lie. Now, these are all significant touchpoints for our clients that add a ton of value. Still, if you were to ask me where the real...
